This is a charcoal drawing copied from "Drawing the Head and Hands" by Andrew Loomis. I got the book last year as a Christmas present and I've been drawing and learning(!) a lot since I started reading.

Illustration Friday: Return

For illustration Friday. I started with a brush & ink drawing on marker paper. Yellow and orange gradients and a border were later added in Photoshop elements. 

Some Comic Heads

It's fun to draw a page of comic heads once in a while. Just start with the shape of the head and add eyes, nose, mouth and ears. And a nice haircut of course.

Airplane Comic

I'm working on a comic strip series about Radio Controlled airplanes. The first goal is to make 12 three panel strips in color. For this airplane illustration I used Artrage for both inking and coloring. The inking pen in Artrage with with a little bit of smoothing (about 10 percent) gives good results I think.
