Illustration Friday: Burst
There's nothing more sad than a clown bursting into tears.
I started this illustration with a marker sketch. Then I tried a few color schemes in photoshop and ended up with a monochrome blue with a dark background.

Illustration Friday: Teacher
This week I wanted to try a cartoon-like illustration. As always I started with a pencil sketch on paper. Then I used ArtRage Studio to add black outlines to the drawing. The coloring was done in Photoshop elements.

Inspiration from old newspapers
Today, while re-decorating the house, I found out that our bathroom walls are insulated with newspaper! Old newspapers from the year 1966 and 1967.
I spent the whole afternoon sitting on the floor with a scissor, cutting out inspiring 'retro-style' advertisements and cartoons...

Moo Minicards
Moo is an online printing service that makes it very easy to create unique business cards, postcards and more. I decided to order the minicards to promote my portfolio.
The cards arrived in a nice box. I'm very satisfied with the ordering process and print quality. I'll be soon ordering some postcards!

Drawing: Old Man sitting on a stool
HB pencil on canson paper
Close to where I live there is an open air museum, open to public only once a year. I made a drawing of this farmer sitting in the sun and telling stories about the old days to the crowd.

Head Drawing and Procedure
Here is another drawing copied from the book Drawing the Head and Hands by Andrew Loomis. I took pictures with my mobile phone of some stages of the drawing. The paper is white but somehow appears gray on the camera. I like the feel of the Hahnemuhle nostalgie paper in combination with charcoal pencils.
